Who we are
Class Rocks is a multipurpose education platform. It was established in 2019 by me, Mohammad, a San Diego based blogger, substitute teacher, and educator.
I was born and raised in San Diego county. I studied Geological Sciences at San Diego State University, and I graduated with a B.S. in 2016. I’ve since worked as a tutor and substitute teacher in the San Diego county. I’ve had ample exposure to students and families of diverse cultural, economic, and social backgrounds. Through each new situation, I learn and think more.
About Class Rocks
Class Rocks is a punny name. Learning in or out of the classroom doesn’t have to be droll, boring, or inflexible. Education should be a lifelong endeavor, which embraces the individual and unique learning style of each and every student. Also, because I studied geology and like earth science, Class Rocks serves as an homage to those interests.
As a substitute teacher and tutor, I desired a way for students, teachers, and parents to leave more direct feedback about my work. I also wanted a way to share my experiences and thoughts with others, in order to bring to my best self to each class. This site is meant to serve those purposes.
Class Rocks Site Functionality
On the feedback page, I hope the teachers, parents, and students I work with leave reviews of my services, so I learn what does and doesn’t work. Elsewhere, such as my blog posts, I hope to share and express my thoughts on a variety of topics. I hope these may start thoughtful conversation with interested parties. Those I work with can also use this site to request lessons from me, in-person or online, or use the same page to refer other students to use my services. Finally, I hope to include on Class Rocks a variety of interesting and helpful resources which my visitors and student may find helpful.
